Guide to Writing FAQs
From FAQ-Off, the Calibre9 knowledge base
FAQ Page Writing Guide—
Here are some guidelines on how to write and structure a FAQ page:
- Start by identifying the common questions that people have about your product, service, or topic. These can be gathered from customer support inquiries, social media, or other sources.
- Organise the questions into logical categories or sections to make it easy for users to find the information they are looking for.
- Keep the questions concise and to the point. Avoid using technical jargon or complex language that may be difficult for users to understand.
- Try to avoid using marketing copy or use the FAQ page as a way to generate conversion; this can lower the quality of the page and the accuracy of the answers.
- Use headings and subheadings to organise the content and make it easy for users to find the information they are looking for. Frequently, drop-down headings are used.
- Keep the page updated with new questions and answers as needed. This will help ensure that the information on the page is accurate and relevant.
- Consider adding a search function to the FAQ page to make it easier for users to find the information they need.
