Saving Existing Feed Rules (Internal Guide) | NOV 2025
From FAQ-Off, the Calibre9 knowledge base
Before making any updates or changes to a client’s DataFeedWatch setup, it’s important to first save a copy of their existing rules, both within Internal Fields and across all live Channel rules. This ensures we have a complete backup of the original configuration.
Because DataFeedWatch does not currently offer a native export function for rules, this backup must be created manually.
NOTE: These two completed tabs will be required once we create the Merchant Feed Review sheet.
STEPS
1 | Login in to DataFeedWatch. Depending on how the access was provided, you may have to log in via the following options: Use our Agency Account tech@calibrenine.com.au or Agency Account User merchant@calibrenine.com.au to view any shop that has given us access via Shop Transfer, MCC Account, or if we set their DataFeedWatch account ourselves. If we set up their account ourselves or if the Shop was Transfered, it should appear in the Shops dashboard by default. If we have been given MCC Account access, click on the top right corner then Switch Accounts, and then all of the Shops should appear in that list. If we have been given User Accounty access, you will have to login using the email that User permission has been provided to. | Agency Account: ![]() MCC Account: ![]() |

2 | Click on the Shop and then on the left hand side navigation, click Channels. Look for a Google Shopping channel. To check if it is particularly the one that is live on the Client’s Merchant Center account, copy the feed URL, and paste it on another tab. Navigate to the Client’s Merchant Center account and go to Data sources. Click on a product source then select the Data source setup tab. Check if the File URL is the same as the DataFeedWatch channel Feed URL to confirm if that it is the feed that is live on the client’s GMC account. | ![]() ![]() ![]() |
3 | Navigate back to that DataFeedWatch Channel dashboard and click on that Google Shopping channel that you’ve identified. This should take you to the Mapping tab’s Map Fields section by default. On the top right corner, enable the Read-only Mode. All the Channel rules should now be displayed in an easy-to-copy format. | ![]() ![]() |
4 | In another window, open the Original DFW Rules Template and make a copy. Rename the file: And save it to the Client’s GMC Audits folder. Within the Original DFW Channel Rules tab, enure the drop down has been set to Current Feed and write the specific Channel name on the right (eg. “Google Shopping (AU)”) Populate each of the fields by copying the rules from the DFW Channel and pasting it onto each individual associated field cell. You can add any Optional or Custom Field that hasn’t been included in the template yet by adding a new row or remove any that don’t appear in the Client’s channel by deleting the row. IMPORTANT: Make sure you DO NOT CLICK Save Changes or Save and Proceed on DFW.

5 | To populate the Include/Exclude Products section of the sheet, navigate to the Include/Exclude Products section in DFW. IMPORTANT: Make sure you DO NOT CLICK Save Changes or Save and Proceed on DFW. | ![]() ![]() |
6 | Once completed, navigate to Internal Fields. | |
7 | Ensure Read-only Mode has been enabled and just repeat the same process as above, copying and pasting each of the field rules this time within the Original DFW Internal Fields Rules tab. You can add any Optional Fields that haven’t been included in the template yet by adding a new row or remove any that don’t appear in the Client’s channel by deleting the row. IMPORTANT: Make sure you DO NOT CLICK Save Changes or Save and Proceed on DFW. And you’re done! | ![]() ![]() |
